The Penn State Alumni Association

What’s been happening:

In my final semester at Penn State I went oversees to study Mass Communication at the University of Manchester. The experience led me to join the Air Force. I was a B-52 navigator and retired in August 2001. I am now a military analyst working for SAIC and support Joint Forces Command in Suffolk, VA. I met my wife Sabine while stationed in Fort Worth, TX and got married in May 1985. We have two wonderful children: a daughter named Rhiannon (yes, after the Fleetwood Mac song) and a son named Marty. We moved to Virginia in 1994 and in that fall I saw my first football game as an alumni (we beat the heck out of Ohio State for Homecoming). I try to make at least one game a year since. I have taken my daughter to many of those games and she loves Penn State as much as I do. I also enjoy seeing my Delta Tau Delta brothers at Homecoming. The Great Hampton Roads Alumni Chapter is going strong and I really like to participate in the activities. I look forward to reading about my fellow Penn Staters. For the Glory, Michael "Heck" Heckenberger
